St Mary Presentation After Their Visit to Lankayan Island
Marine Education Program (MEP) participants from St Mary Sandakan had an awareness campaign on the
23rd October 2008. The Form 3 students were their audiences since they have just finished their exam. They
gave a presentation to the Form 3 students about coral reefs and marine turtles. They also introduced Reef
Guardian and the Sugud Islands Marine Conservation Area (SIMCA). To test the Form 3 students, they were
asked questions regarding the presentations. Students who answered correctly were given presents. The
Form 3 students were very enthusiastic and more importantly they paid attention.
After that, the Feeding Frenzy game was organized for the students. It was to show them the importance of
sustainability in using our marine recourses.
Clearly, MEP participants from St. Mary Sandakan are good role models for their younger schoolmates.
